SLD Commits $26.4 Million in 2005

On November 9th the SLD committed $26.4 million and sent FCDLs to over 500 applicants and 450 vendors notifying them of the status of their 2005 requests. The latest 2005 funding wave notified 29 applicants about their 2005 internal connections requests totaling $2.5 million and notified 25 applicants about their basic maintenance requests totaling $384,000. The SLD has committed $993 million and has over $2 billion still pending.

Several applicants lost out on funding this wave because when they were evaluating bids price was not the primary factor. Applicants must select the most "cost-effective" bid with price being weighted the highest. There can be other relevant criteria and further SLD guidance on procuring services and products can be found at https://www.usac.org/e-rate/applicant-process/selecting-service-providers/.

The SLD sent out a small 2004 funding wave this week totaling $2,456. The total 2004 committed is close to $2.3 billion with $279 million pending. The SLD notified the Detroit Public School District that their 2003 funding requests have been granted and $10..4 million will be committed. The SLD has committed close to $2.7 billion in 2003 with $55 million still pending.

The full funding waves can be viewed at E-rate Manager Wave Reports.
