SLD Commits Another $45.6 Million in FY 2007

The SLD released wave 16 for FY 2007 notifying 792 applicants and 581 companies about the status of their FY 2007 applications. Of the total $45.6 million committed, $13.5 was for priority two requests. To date the SLD has committed $290.8 million and has $1.6 billion pending.

Two funding requests in the wave were denied because “FCC rules require that a contract be signed and dated by both parties prior to the filing of the Form 471 for the products/services requested. This requirement was not met.” In the Adams County School District 12 FCC decision, which was released in April of this year, the FCC stated that if state procurement laws do not require two dates and two signatures on the contract, then “…commission precedent does not impose such a requirement…”To date, the SLD has denied FY 2007 applicants close to $63,000 citing this reason.Applicants are encouraged to appeal the SLD decision if they were affected by this.

The full funding waves may be viewed at E-rate Manager Wave Reports.
