SLD Commits $39.2 Million in FY 2007; Releases Small FY 2006 Funding Wave

The SLD committed $39.2 million this week in FY 2007 requests of which $24.7 million was for priority two requests.  The SLD has committed $1.35 billion for FY 2007 and has $2.22 billion pending.

The SLD released a small FY 2006 funding wave this week notifying 4 applicants and 12 service providers committing $579,000. There is $304 million pending for FY 2006 requests and the SLD has notified E-rate applicants to why there is a delay in processing those applications.

As a reminder, there are 7313 funding requests totaling $666.9 million for internal connections projects whose installation deadline is September 30, 2007.  This spans from FY 2003 through FY 2006.  Depending when funding letters were issued applicants may have received automatic extensions or extension requests or appeals were finally approved or granted.  If applicants need additional time they must request an extension before the September 30 deadline.  Contracts may need to be extended and Form 500’s will need to be submitted to the SLD.

Further information on requesting extensions can be found on the SLD website at http://www.universalservice.org/sl/applicants/step11/service-deadlines-extension-requests.aspx

The full funding waves may be viewed at E-rate Manager Wave Reports.
