2008 Funding Commitments Ahead of 2007 Pace

The latest funding waves issued this week by the Schools and Libraries Division include funding decisions for applicants in Funding Years 2007 and 2008.  Commitments totaling $23.97 million were issued in all, with the vast majority dedicated to the upcoming Funding Year.

To date, commitments for the 2008 Funding Year are approaching $560 million. This is about $200 million ahead of Funding Year 2007 commitments that were issued at this time a year ago.  According to an analysis by Funds For Learning, this will be the most in committed funding available at the beginning of any funding year in recent history.
