FCC Publishes USF Contribution NPRM

On April 30, 2012, the Federal Communications Commission released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) regarding contributions to the Universal Service Fund. Seeking “to reform and modernize how Universal Service Fund ‚Ķ contributions are assessed and recovered,” the NPRM seeks comment in four major areas including:

    Who Should Contribute

    How Contributions Should Be Assessed

    How the Administration of the Contribution System Can Be Improved

    Recovery of Universal Service Contributions from Consumers

Comments will be due 30 days from the publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register, and reply comments will be due 60 days from the Federal Register publication date.
