FCC Comments: Bundled Ineligible Components

On April 9, 2013, the Federal Communications Commission released a Public Notice seeking public comment on E-rate requirements for “bundling devices, equipment and services that are ineligible for E-rate support with E-rate eligible services and products.”  Comments were due on May 23, 2013, and a number of E-rate stakeholders responded.

Opinions regarding the Commission’s proposed rules were mixed.  Some commenters expressed support for a requirement which would require cost-allocation of all bundled ineligible components, some felt that exceptions should be granted for certain types of service, and others disagreed with the Commission’s proposed rule.  You may read the comments in their entirety below:
