USAC’s Schools and Libraries Division hosts monthly service provider conference calls, providing information and guidance for vendors participating in the E-rate program. Highlights from the June 5, 2013 service provider call include:

May 2013 Commitments

Invoicing Update

Payments for the month of May totaled over $171.1 million against $215.8 million in requests. Invoices were submitted by 1,592 service providers, and 99% were processed within 30 days. The top invoice denial reasons for the month include:

  • Total Commitment Paid
  • Duplicate Billing
  • Invoiced After the Deadline
  • Invalid 471 Number
  • SPIN Not Registered

Q&A

USAC will accept e-Signatures on a contract if that is valid under state contract law, however, USAC may ask for additional documentation.

The FCC releases a draft eligible services list around June/July and provides stakeholders a chance to provide feedback on what the FCC should include in the list for the year.

USAC stated it was too early to make a pronouncement how they were going to be handling priority two funds in FY 2013 and they do not know when an announcement will be made.
