The FCC has released further information on filing deadlines due to the recent government shut down. The FCC website was down during this period which prevented parties from being able to electronically file or access online FCC resources. For E-rate applicants and service providers who had appeal deadlines or wished to file reply comments to the NPRM on Modernizing the E-rate Program, this public notice provides guidance on when items must now be filed.
Reply Comments on Modernizing the E-rate Program were due October 16, 2013. These comments will now be due November 8th.
FCC appeal deadlines that fell between October 1st and October 16th have also been extended. If the appeal was due between October 1st to October 6th, the new deadline is October 22nd. Appeals due between October 7th and October 16th now have a 16 day extension. To determine the new due date, parties should add 16 days to the prior due date. If the date falls on a weekend or other holiday, the due date will be the next business day.
