October 16th was the deadline to file reply comments to the E-rate Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM). The NPRM asked for comments across all aspects of the E-rate program and over 800 initial comments were filed before the government shut down on October 1st. The FCC website was down the day of the deadline and parties interested in filing reply comments were unable to do so. Now that it appears the shutdown is over, the question remains, what does this mean for the NPRM reply comment deadline?
The current answer can be found on the FCC website which is back up and running as of this morning. The Commission has suspended all filing deadlines that occurred during the shutdown or that will occur on or before October 21st. Further guidance on the revised deadlines will be released soon.
