USAC Service Provider Call Notes – October 2013

USAC’s Schools and Libraries Division hosts monthly service provider conference calls, providing information and guidance for vendors participating in the E-rate program. Highlights from the October 2, 2013 service provider call include:

Webinar on Creating E-File Users and Entitlements

USAC will be holding a complimentary webinar on October 8, 3p.m. ET on their E-file system and are inviting FCC Form 498 Company Officers and General Contacts to learn how to establish new users in E-File, and assign user entitlements to allow them to fill out FCC forms online. Invoicing Update

Payments in the last 30 days totaled over $207 million against $305 million in requests.  Invoices were submitted for 1,039 service providers and 98% were processed within 30 days.

Top denial explanations:

Total commitment paid;

Duplicate billing;

SPIN not registered;

No SPAC on file;

No processed Form 486

Funding Year 2012 invoice deadlines will be automatically extended for one year. The invoice deadline for FY2012 recurring services will be moved from October 28, 2013 to October 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-recurring services will be extended from January 28, 2014 to January 28, 2015. While extensions will be automatically granted for invoice deadlines, installation and service delivery deadlines will not receive an extension.
