Verizon Provides E-rate Customer Broadband Analysis

On April 30, 2014, Verizon provided the FCC with a data analysis on the broadband connectivity of their customers.  They obtained information from the Form 471 Block 5 information as well as other public sources of connectivity data information.

According to Verizon’s customer analysis, “… by the 2014 school year, even the most economically disadvantaged school districts in its ILEC footprint will have achieved or made significant progress towards the primary ConnectED goal – i.e.,to connect schools “at speeds no less than100 Mbps and with a target of 1 Gbps.”
