USAC Board Pledges Improved IT Systems

On December 28, 2017, Dr. Brian Talbot, Chair, Board of Directors of the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) sent a letter to FCC Chairman Pai acknowledging that USAC must strengthen and make more reliable all aspects of the USAC IT systems. The letter was in direct response to the December 13 FCC letter that highlighted many concerns that the FCC has in relation to USAC’s information systems. Dr. Talbot agreed that USAC must “redouble its efforts” to ensure that their systems are reliable and secure. He further acknowledged that the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC) has had many pitfalls and they are taking continued action to make those corrections.
