FCC Receives 2021 Draft ESL Comments

The deadline to submit initial comments to the Federal Communications Commission’s draft Eligible Services List for Funding Year 2021 was August 20, 2020. Multiple comments were submitted to the Commission, and the comments centered around several common themes:
  • Support for funding advanced network security services
  • Eliminating confusion in Category Two by removing or relaxing the distinctions between the “subcategories” of Internal Connections, Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections, and Managed Internal Broadband Services
  • Support for funding off-campus connectivity services due to distance learning initiatives caused by COVID-19

Reply comments are due September 4, 2020 and may be submitted via the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System under proceeding 02-6.
