Nearly Half of Initial ECF Requests Committed

Funding requests in the first Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) filing window totaled $5.16 billion. To date, the FCC has committed $2.36 billion, or about 46% of the total requested amount. $2.8 billion is still pending.

The first wave of the initial ECF filing window accounted for 23% of the total requested ECF support. The $1.1 billion committed in second funding wave brought the total percent up to 46% committed amount. In comparison, funds committed by applicant type in Wave 2 were double those of the first Wave.

Further analysis indicates that American Samoa and Northern Mariana Islands are yet to receive a funding commitment.
