Our Funds For Learning team had the privilege of joining the LA Archdiocese Conference this year, and it was a meaningful opportunity to connect face-to-face with so many school leaders. From presenting on E-rate Seasons and Common Pitfalls to Avoid, to answering questions in the Bishop Amat Courtyard, we left the conference with new insights, stronger connections, and a shared excitement for what’s ahead. This event, organized by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, is an annual gathering that brings together educators, school leaders, and faith-based community members from across the region. The conference’s primary goal is to provide valuable resources and training to help educators better serve their students and vocational challenges.

Key Moments
One highlight was our presentation on navigating the E-rate seasons. We walked through the timeline of forms and deadlines, emphasizing the common pitfalls that can trip up even the most seasoned applicants. Beyond the presentation, tabling in the courtyard gave us a chance to meet principals and staff where they were, offering real-time answers and resources that could help them feel more confident in their E-rate journey.
Questions That Stood Out
Attendees brought thoughtful and practical questions to the table, including:
- How should schools approach the procurement process?
- What do new principals need to know while stepping into their roles?
- Are there any pending action items specific principals need to address right now?
These conversations gave us valuable insight into the areas where schools need extra guidance, and they also reinforced the importance of clear, consistent communication.
How FFL Showed Up

At the heart of our time at the conference was showing up as a trusted partner. We made ourselves available as a sound board for all things E-rate, from technical details to big-picture strategy. We also handed out timeline readiness guides, ensuring principals had a quick reference for upcoming deadlines. Most importantly, we were there to listen—building relationships and strengthening the connection between the Archdiocese, the schools, and our team.
Events like this remind us why face-to-face conversations matter. They help us meet schools where they are, provide clarity in a complicated process, and make the E-rate journey feel a little more manageable.
